Made from a blend of Merlot, Malbec and Syrah, this cassis-hued rose defies a singular soil origin yet is unified through co-fermentation. This dynamic and versatile wine offers layered aromas of wet-stone minerality, mandarin zest and hibiscus flower. A lively palate of cranberry, strawberry and agua de jamaica are accented by lifted rose petal notes and supported by a bright and lingering acidity.
Hailing from several distinctive sites at the base of Arrowhead Mountain, this wine is a testament to the diversity of dirt in Sonoma Valley, including volcanic ash, clay and gravelly loam.
Hand-harvested in the cool morning hours, the grapes for this saignée-style rosé were destemmed and conveyed to tank, where the juice soaked on the skins just under 24 hours to extract concentrated color and aromas. The juice was then drained from the skins and fermented in stainless steel tanks at a cool 60 degrees to preserve the fruit and floral aromas in the wine.
